The format consists of four teams from the following four regions: Europe, Russia, The Americas and Asia Pacific. Each team consists of 3 players. The top two players from each team will compete in singles, while the third player is a “Star of Tomorrow” and will compete in doubles along with one of the singles players. The 4 teams are placed into a semi finals draw based on seeding determined by the combined WTA world ranking of the 2 singles players from each team. Each semi final tie consists of 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match.
Winners of the semi-finals (the teams that win at least 2 of their matches) will advance to the J B Gold Group Final and the losers to the J B Silver Group Final. The J B Silver Group Final also consists of 2 singles matches and 1 doubles match.
The J B Gold Group Final consists of 4 singles matches and 1 doubles match. Each player will play 2 singles matches- one against each of the two players from the other team and one doubles match. There will be J B Gold Group Team Champions and J B Silver Group Team Champions.
